Hand made vintage fabric womens tuxedo with raccoon faux fur designed by C. Reinke

  I modified a tuxedo pattern, found some of my favorite vintage fabrics and pieced with to make this tuxedo! It is so much fun and is a real show stopper. Look under the tails to see that they are lined and have purple and lime green lace added for detailing. The two pockets have glitter and large vintage glass beaded button. The tuxedo closes with a belt that is made in India and ties in the front. I added very real looking raccoon fuax fur to the front cover. Vintage trim on the sleeve. All seams are finished off and I really took my time and put in allot of tender loving care in this piece.

perma iron 100 5 dacron polyester made in the USA white shirt has been altered and designed by Catherine Reinke. I have added black sequins on the sleeves, replaced the traditional buttons with plastic black ball buttons and two red on the pockets. a hand made patch from Jim
Spinx of a Betty Page pin up type girl with tiger has been sewn on the right above the pocket. Lots of long and soft fringe are on the button for a flirty and classic look.

Handmade OOAK cape made from vintage harvest gold and silver thread chenille bedspread

This was hand made and is the brain child of Catherine Reinke who takes vintage bedspreads and makes them into capes! yes, she welcomes custom orders.

This "harvest gold and silver metallic chenille is simply beautiful. It is paired with deep brown satin lining and two 2 inch vintage buttons that have a loop and hook and eye to close on addition for the fall. A must have for all who love the colors of fall.

Size:One size fits most, length 40 inches with fringe .

Altered desert storm US Air Force Military jacket

Designed and hand signed by Catherine Reinke from a desert storm army jacket. Great glitter faux fur is used on the collar, shoulder and peace sign on the back. Several vintage trims and fringes including a large beige leaf plastic button from the 1940s (see shoulder view photo)

Jacket has 4 original US AIR FORCE patches, two on sleeves.
Each jacket created is a one of a kind made from vintage military coats. I call my collection Military MADNESS and create custom orders.

A handmade batik from Bali of Buddha has been sewn r on the back of this mens army raincoat. It is one of my favorite coats. Faux fur raccoon  trim has been added to the cuffs and the bottom of the jacket. vintage trims are also added as accents. This coat is large. silver peace sign pin is included.

  Femininespring color design on a vintage military jacket from the period of the Vietnam war. It has been altered with vintage silk paisley fabric, vintage (1960)cotton pom pom trim, delicate hand made embroidered laces and other fun and kitsch trims. Patches of vintage beige real mink and vintage buttons have been used. Note on the front side, bright yarn is sewn on as a flower over the great vintage patterned fabric circle. Contemporary patches have been added.

All jackets all OOAK (one of a kind) designed by C. Reinke. I am especially found of the solid green , as in this jacket from the Vietnam period,therefore they cost a bit more because it is becoming increasingly difficult for me to find these solid green jackets.

These shoes were made for a special art exhibit on the theme of the wizard of oz. A Series of shoes were created for all the women in OZ ( one of my childhood favorites) land including the much forgotten good witch of the south and Auntie em. Make sure you check out the entire series.

In the original novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the Good Witch of the North is an elderly sorceress from Gillikin Country who is summoned to Munchkin Country when Dorothy Gale's falling house kills the Wicked Witch of the East. She arrives at the site of the Wicked Witch's death with three Munchkins, and alone of the party is brave enough to speak to Dorothy, who, having killed the Witch of the East, is believed to be a powerful sorceress. She welcomes Dorothy to the land of the Munchkins, points out the body of the dead Witch and then introduces herself as the Witch of the North. Having been told that all witches are evil, Dorothy is initially frightened of her, but she assures the girl that she is a good witch who is loved by her people.

These were made from shoes from the 1940's these have been re-purposed with acrylic paints and fishnet. Glass bead trim and vintage buttons have been used to complete the design.

Taking odd shoes that have been thrown out and turning them into something magical has always been a passion of mine.

I love the wizard of Oz and this series was created for an art exhibition during the Fall which themed horror and witches.

The Wicked Witch of the West is a character in the fictional Land of Oz created by American author L. Frank Baum in his children book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The character also figures prominently in the classic 1939 movie based on Baum's book. In these works, The Wicked Witch poses the biggest threat to Dorothy Gale, because she covets the magical pair of silver shoes (ruby slippers in the movie) which previously belonged to the Wicked Witch of the East and are now worn by Dorothy. The Witch has often been used by editorial cartoonists to represent an evil force; for more details see Political interpretations of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. In subsequent Oz books, it is the Nome King who is the principal villain; the Wicked Witch of the West does not appear after the first book, and is rarely referred to again. Despite this, she makes frequent appearances in modern works based on Oz, and accordingly has been re imagined and expanded upon a number of times.

These shoes from the early 1930s have been rescued with acrylic paints, gems and trims, note the creepies bone hands and scary skull. There are no other shoes like this truly OOAK!

“Poopiehead” Cowboy hat from the Gilbert and George Collection by Catherine Reinke
Inspired form the “A Tate Modern, London exhibition in association with the Milwaukee Art Museum” in Wisconsin “Brace Yourself Gilbert and George“. This is a rare vintage plastic cowboy style hat, maybe from a dairy fair or 4-H fair as a handout. It has been heavily collage with multiple layers of copies of vintage fabrics and images from the work of Gilbert and George. The interior has been painted red and black with acrylic paint. The images in this work are miniatures from the large scale works created by the English team that involve the controversial subjects such as bombing, religion and human excrement ( a favorite of Gilbert and George, as in the Naked shit Pictures of the mid-1990S, stating about excrement ‘ we consist of the stuff. It‘s our nourishment, it belongs to us, we’re part of it, and we view this in a positive light‘) A work of art honoring their peculiar genius. Great for Gay Pride walks!

Camouflage German style helmet from the Military Mania Collection by Catherine Reinke. This is a reproduction helmet purchased from a biker rally vendor. It is collage with hand made silk-screened /embossed papers and snake print fabric. The outer rim is lined with rabbit fur trim. A Tiff of faux raccoon fur surrounds a red vintage button. Size listed as medium. This is intended as an art piece or theatrical costume accessory and is not safe as protective gear, it is a novelty helmet only.

Gilbert and George inspired GERMAN war helmet by recycled artist C. Reinke

Inspired by the English Gilbert and George two contemporary artists who work together as a duo this German war helmet was collage from museum brochure clippings, vintage floral fabrics and sequin trim. Finished off with water based varnish.

They proceeded to use a range of bolder colours, sometimes backlit, and overlaid with black grids.
